Recovery Awareness is not limited to the local area of Battle Creek, the State of Michigan or even the United States.  Issues of recovery, whether recovery is possible and various recovery definitions are found the world over.  It would probably be a good idea if we looked at recovery definitions from around the world seeking similarities and differences.  The more brain power (the more people) we use when defining recovery and the various strategies for success the higher the probability we’ll have identified what works for the majority of individuals with a mental illness.

In this section we have some examples of recovery awareness definitions and recovery strategies based on interviews with individuals who have a mental illness.  These individuals live outside the United States in Britain or New Zealand.
